Unlock SIM PUK code

I use a Droid Incredible 4D LTE by HTC, and recently I've accidentally locked myself out by trying to unlock the SIM code. I entered wrong three times and now it is requiring me to enter my eight digit SIM PUK code, and I have no idea what it is. So far when it asked me to do so, I entered a random eight digit number to see what would happen, and it asked me to enter and re-enter a new 4-8 digit SIM lock code. When I did, it told me that the code I've entered doesn't match with the SIM PUK password. Pleas help!

Hi, and welcome!

You need to contact your carrier to get them to reset the SIM PUK. It seems to be a pretty common occurrence, so don't feel bad making the call.

But write it down somewhere so you can find it in case you need it again.
