Unlocked CDMA?

Probably a dumb question, but I'm genuinely curious enough to ask. Is there such a thing as an unlocked CDMA phone like the unlocked international versions of GSM phones you see all the time? I know GSM is more of the world standard, but I didn't know if anyone else used CDMA outside North America.

Like I said, just curious because you never know unless you ask. Thanks!

AFAIK there isn't a such thing. At least not in the US. I know there are some countries with CDMA networks in other countries and they may have different policies but at least for the 2 big CDMA carriers they will/can only allow you to activate certain phones on their network. This may be changing with LTE on VZW because I believe part of the block C provisions were if a customer wants to activate a phone that will work on the network then they are supposed to be able to activate it...however I don't know how that will work with the CDMA side. I know smaller CDMA carriers allow you to have phones flashed to them (at least cricket but I think Boost and Virgin as well, however you may need to have a phone from the parent network (VZW for cricket, Sprint for Boost/Virgin)
