Unlocked International or AT&T and then unlock?

Looking at getting a galaxy s3 and just thinking if it'd be better to get the at&t version off contract and unlock or get the unlocked international version?

I'm in the U.S. I know the international won't support LTE. Other than maybe maps I don't see the speed difference mattering.

Ultimately I'm probably thinking about resale. I'm coming from iPhone 4S and really don't know what I'll do at this point when the next iPhone comes out.

International version has been out for a while so if you wanted it really early. It would've made sense. At this point as U.S version should be maybe days off, wondering if the international version has any advantage over the AT&T one?

If I was going to buy a used phone, being able to use LTE networks would be a definite plus, so if you are thinking of resale, you might be able to get more for the newer, faster data speed. My guess is that most people buying a new phone in the US would want that.
