Help unlocking?

My friend just got me one from the states but wont work cause its locked

I tried finding a place that unlocks it but cant find a site that guarantees it

I was hoping for a free way

any help appreciated.

Don't know any free sites, but I paid about $20 twice to unlock two Comets. I could have asked T-Mobile for the codes, but I am impatient and this was quicker. Got the codes in just a day or two and both worked fine.

I did the eBay 20 buck method to unlock a Comet. Newegg has the unlocked version on sale pretty regularly for 150 bucks.
