Help Unreadtext notification on LG Enact not clearing

I continually have a notification for an unread message on my LG Enact, running 4.4.2. Clearing the data and cache for messenger doesn't help. I have deleted all texts, tried receiving a new text and deleting that, tried sending texts and deleting those, and I set another app as default messenger and then went back to messenger, no change. I've got no listing in my application manager for anything called badge provider or dalvek, which were fixes I've seen in other threads for other phones. Any ideas?

I would factory reset the device just in case you had a bogus app that planted apps in your system files. If this don't work try to reset data in the launcher
