Unresponsive Black Screen After Using Google Maps

Having issues with my phone going black and not being responsive after i use maps. Either leaving maps open for directions or leaving and address in the address bar. I normally have to use my smart watch to open an app on it for it to become responsive. Anyone else having this problem or know of a fix? Its driving me CRAZY!

Interesting... is this happening in any Maps function, just navigation, or what? I use either Waze or Navdy, so I only use Maps for fast reference. I've not experienced this issue.

Well first thing I would try would be clearing the cache files for maps, if that doesn't' work revert to an earlier version, then re-update the app. If that still causes you issues clear the cache partition, finally if all else fails I would clear data on maps and try to start fresh.

It happens when ever i put in an address and hit enter. I dont even have to select navigation or directions.

I will try this but did a reset on my phone that didnt help.

a factory reset, or restating the phone? If you did a factory reset and it did not help the next step is identifying if another installed app is causing the problem. With nothing else installed on the phone does the same issue occur?

Mine doesn't go blank after using navigation but it locks the phone in landscape.
I can launch a portrait only app to get out of landscape, but then it's locked in portrait.
I have to reboot to get it back to normal.
