Help Unresponsive Edge Tab

So I've got a bit of an issue that's been driving me crazy and am wondering if anyone knows a fix for this:

At times, my edge tab feature is unresponsive until someone on my people tab texts me and I open there's first. My only solution to this is going into Edge feature settings and changing from right side to left side and then back again, but that only temporarily works.

Does anyone know why this is happeningredients and how I can stop this from happening in the future.

I am running the latest lollipop and have just done a factory reset. No change.

I have a similar issue. I have random spots on the edge of the screen that quit responding to presses. Most notably the letter P and L on the keyboard, and sometimes the back button in Facebook or other apps that have it in the same location. It's happened a couple of times on the edge tab and space bar as well. Switching keyboards doesn't help.

I've turned on view screen touch and position in developer options and it registers the touches without any problems, even when the problem is actively happening. It registers the touches, it just doesn't respond. Usually a restart will fix the problem temporarily, but it always comes back. Not sure if this is the same problem, but it seems like a software problem to me.

I have a similar problem as BostonMonty. The tab is unresponsive intermittently, for no apparent reason. Restarting the phone works, but only temporarily.

I disabled Facebook and Messenger, which automatically removed them from my edge apps. So far the problem has not reoccured. One whole day successful.

OP, Please make sure none of your fingers/hand is touching the display while swiping the screen!
It is very sensitive due to the bezels used on the screen.
Also make sure you hands are not sweaty!
And swipe/select with your finger bottom, not the finger tip!
