Unresponsive screen edges

I just bought a Pixel 2 XL less than a week ago. I've been noticing that the screen edges (especially the bottom left and right corners) are unresponsive at times. Does anyone else have this issue? Also, is this a hardware or software issue and did Google release a patch for it yet? I appreciate the help!

I have had this issue as well..I thought maybe it was just me , but when I see your post Iits exactly what happens to me..I only notice it when on IG ..
 
I was having this issue with the bottom edge , non responsive, on my Galaxy Note 8 all of a sudden about 2 weeks ago. After the device (new) started lagging and hanging, i finally did a factory reset and it resolved the edge issue and lagging processing. I dont know what app i had installed or where the problem was, but factory reset fixed my issue.
