Unsolicited photo attached to phone contacts

I recently changed my wallpaper and immediately after a weird wet cat picture attached itself to every contact in my phone. I had no photos before and don't want any. Cannot find this photo anywhere.
Even got a brand new phone and the contact picture stayed with the contacts when I moved everything over
I want the weird cat gone!
Is there on every incoming and outgoing call on the screen.
Any thoughts?
 
How did you change your wallpaper? Just select an image file that was on your phone, or use some app to download/set the image? The coincidence of this happening at the same time suggests to me that you used some app to do this, and that app is the source of the problem.

Contact photos can "add themselves" if your phone is allowed to pull them from social media profiles (if they have a G+ profile in particular that can happen without you realising it was enabled), but the same picture on all suggests something else. Just thinking about other possibilities, you aren't using a third-party contact or dialer app?
 
HTC themes can also theme HTC apps, including the dialer/contacts app. It's quite common for them to replace the default "no picture" avatar with one of the themer's choosing, so it's possible if you applied a theme rather than just a wallpaper that you are now suffering the theme developer's bad taste. Try changing the theme and see whether it goes away.

It may have been a theme . New phone though is the default setting. Did change the theme when it first happened but it didn’t change.
 
Maybe change to a theme where the previews show you the dialer images. There are some that do change these, some that don't, so if you followed one that did with one that didn't maybe it would leave the last one rather than reverting to default?
 
I think that if it changed when an HTC theme was applied, then since HTC themes can change the default contact image that is just too big a coincidence.
 
Thanks all. Was the theme. Some themes attach a picture to your contacts, some don't. Tried one. A different picture came up but it was more pleasing. Tried another and it cleared the pictures to default.
