Unsure on LG Optimus S or Kyocera Milano through Ting...

I'm probably going to jump from Verizon to Ting very soon, and right now they're selling a refurbished LG Optimus S for $73 and the Kyocera Milano for $105, and i'd like some suggestions on which one might be worth getting.

From every review the Kyocera Milano seems to have a worse screen and the picture quality sucks, but given it's a newer phone with a MSM7627T 800MHz processor and Android 2.3 compared to the 2+ year old LG Optimus S which has a MSM7627 600MHz processor and only runs Android 2.2 I wasn't sure if the processor speed difference and older version of Android would make a huge difference. I don't really do streaming video nor do I do any gaming, mainly I use the phone for talking, texting, taking pictures, and Gmail, Google Plus, and Doggcatcher and TuneIn are the other apps I mainly use. Also tethering is a must have for my Nexus 7 while traveling.

Also for comparison my current phone is a DroidX on Verizon which has a 1Ghz processor, but given the screen is going out I need to find something else soon. Ting is just so appealing because I don't want a contract, and with the phones being $50 and $75 after using a $25 referral coupon it's worth trying out anyway.

Thanks --
