I frequently use my S3 whilst abroad, and bitterly regret the bandwidth, processor time and battery life caused by automatic updates of apps which I never use and do not want - particularly Google and Samsung apps. There seem to be a never-ending list of these apps which cannot apparently be uninstalled, and if I try to disable them I get a dire warning that something else might be affected (although it never says what). If I continue I get the option to revert to the factory version (which will presumably only increase the amount of update traffic) or cancel - which cancels the disable function.
I do not want every camera shot I take to be uploaded to some nefarious backup site; nor to I think I need Google Play Books/Games/Movies/Music/Newsstand/services/Store/Text-to-speech or Google+. Nor Group Play, Hangouts and so on.
How can I stop these apps from hogging my S3 or remove them?
