Update 8.1

Not a hope, I'm afraid. They dropped that in 2011 (with the Nexus S), so I don't think there's any chance of that coming back.

The progress is that at least they now make models with adequate internal storage, rather than assuming that everyone will just keep everything in the cloud and stream. Remember that the Nexus S, Galaxy Nexus and Nexus 4 all topped out at 16GB (the 32GB GNex model wasn't available outside the US), and that only went to 32. They clung to the idea that 8GB would be enough for an implausibly long time. And they've given up actively discouraging removable storage, which seemed to be their policy for a while.

Well text at least doesn't take much space ;).

Yeah, I'm afraid that storage was always the thing that stopped me buying a Nexus (and size in a couple of cases). I'm ok now because I don't use my phone for video (downloaded or recording my own), but I can see how it becomes limiting for those who do.

Streaming did kind of make that redundant. So like 50 movies on a 128GB internal storage space with room for text.

My CD Rips take 40 gigs without the Christmas music.
Mo' storage is needed.
