Update Android in Roaming using Carrier Data Pack

I am currently roaming and I want to update my Android OS using the data pack. By default, Samsung/Android only allows you to update your OS using Wi-Fi when the phone is in roaming. I do not have access to Wi-Fi.

However, the data pack provided by my carrier is valid in roaming also. Is there any way I can update my Android OS/Software using my data package and not Wi-Fi? Any suggestions?

Unless you are going to be away for a long time, I'd have thought that waiting until you get back would be the simplest solution.

If the system software won't allow an update over mobile data when roaming there probably isn't much you can do, unless you can find a WiFi hotspot you can use for a little while. Whatever your plan covers, the phone knows when it is roaming, so if that's a hard-coded restriction you may well be stuck.

However, I'm not a Samsung expert, so maybe someone who is will know of a work-around?
