Update Cancelled Call

Im having a bit of a complain and im not sure who to send this too or where to send it too.

Essentially i was half way into a call with my partner which was fairly important, admittedly it wasnt life changing but im fairly miffed. Ive fairly recently updated to a new samsung phone after usually using one of those old nokias and ive hated it ever since. I use my phone for two reasons to check where my daughter is and that shes ok and for talking to my partner when shes working away. I never really do the updates unless its on my nightstand on charge so when it did it in public during the day on the call it kinda threw everything up in arms.

The phone didnt pop up with a would you like to update screen etc etc instead it cut the call off. So my question i guess is how the hell do they get away with doing this (im assuming i havnt signed anything saying they can) also how the hell do i stop it. Im all for an update reminder if its convient i do it but this is a joke. Its cut a call off and installed a bunch of bloatware

Are you American, and did you buy your phone through a carrier?

Android phones in general just give you a notification that an update is available, but some US carriers modify the software so that you cannot decline updates, and at some point they will just install. I've not heard of happening during a call, but who knows whether that is just chance.

Anyway, my best guess is that the people you should complain to are your carrier. And I expect they will fob you off, possibly by telling you that's how all android updates are (which may be true for their phones, but isn't how android itself works).

However, I'm not American and don't buy phones through carriers, I'm just working from what others have reported. So someone with direct experience may be able to give you better advice.

From navigating your question the best I can I'm assuming you want to stop automatic updates. Will you please share the model of your device because it would help a great deal in fixing your device Issues?
