Help Update defy after rooting

Helllo guys,
I am new to android and I have rooted my defy with superoneclick . I want to know can I update its software while it is rooted or update after unrooting it... And can I get back its warranty after unrooting it.?

Not 100% sure, bit I read in various places the OTA update won't work after root. You can un-root & try updating, then root again (I would try the moto software updater by going through their website on a PC). Just search un-root.

Or you could try updating manually with a choice of roms, some custom, some Gingerbread (CM7) but it takes a bit of reading & download a few files.

Be aware you can't downgrade from some roms (for warranty, etc...) so maybe you might want to try un-rooting / updating it first.

My rooted Defy updated without any trouble. And then I used Gingerbreak to re-root Froyo. Much easier and faster than Superoneclick.
