Root Update from 2.1 to 2.2

Hello everyone first post here.I have a rooted android with 2.1 and I want to update it to 2.2 because I want to store my apps on my SD,but I can't seem to find a way to do this.I really need some help.

Titanium backup would probably do the job, but you would be better served posting this in the section specific to your device.

I have to download titanium backup to my phone right?My phone is Joy 845.It's the one I could afford and I rooted it to update to new android versions.
