Update

The notification slide is dark grey and slightly translucent rather than pure black (if you have a dark wallpaper - I don't know whether the light theme has changed). That's about it for visual changes. I think it's mostly under the hood stuff (e.g. activating their new image processor).

(I have sent Google feedback that it's less attractive, lower contrast and, since it looks like my HTC did 3 years ago, rather old-fashioned looking. Doubt they'll listen, but...).

Have noticed today my battery has taken a bit. Where as I was getting a out an hour SOT to 75% percent, today it's 30min. Even to the point that I was getting 1% loss by lunchtime, today almost 7%. Hopefully it's a one off, nothing else changed on the phone

The calibration seems a bit better. On 8.0 my battery would sometimes show 100% with 30-60 minutes screen-on time before it started dropping, which was clearly just nonsense. With 8.1 it starts dropping more sensibly but the overall lifetime seems no worse than before, just the readings at the start are more sensible.

Basically I'd judge it on full days use (or full cycles) rather than the early part, and if that's comparable I'd not worry.

Yeah would make sense. Only other app I've put in is Fit. Was nice seeing no drop at lunch but either way, still doing ok compared to my N6

Same this morning. 2% drop in 45mins with only 1min SOT, and just hooked to Bluetooth in my car for 15mins. Change since update
