Updated to 4.1.1 today question about voice search

Lurker
I am on a slightly older phone HTC Sense and prior to this update I could do a voice search or voice to text by clicking on the mic and doing my thing. Now there is this infernal sound when it engages...this blip if you will that lets you know that it has started. It is very annoying and I cannot seem to find a way to turn this off. It was not there in the old version and I got along just fine. It makes a noise when it starts and another when it finishes. I don't like disturbing the people around me ( like the sleeping wife on the couch ) when I can speak softly and text but now this alarm of sorts lets the world around me know that I am recording!

I have tried going to settings/sounds and turning off touch sounds but it still happens. This happens everywhere you hit the mic to do a speech to text or search.

Quite hoping that this is hidden away somewhere and it can be disengaged.

Thank you for your time and help with this.

I don't think there's a way of turning it off, I can't see a way on any of my devices anyway.

Which phone do you have? I can move this to the right forum where members who own it might be able to help.

Sense is HTC's overlay, so the software it's running will be called HTC Sense.

If you look in Settings -> About Phone (or one of the sub menus), it should give you some indication of the exact model.

It might even be written somewhere on the back of the device.
