Help Updates available notification doesn't match download history

Several times a week, I get a notification that updates are available for one or more installed apps. That's fine...I've checked that setting. However, most of the time, after the list of downloaded/installed apps pops up, I don't see anything to update. It seems like it could be notifying me that updates are available for apps I no longer have installed. How can I fix this? Thanks.
