Help Updating with removed system apps?

Hey everyone, I just got the ice cream sandwich update for my razr maxx and am really liking it. However, I tried to "disable" the vz navigatior app and uninstall the updates. However, the uninstall failed and somehow the navigator app is now gone from my phone. I'm worried that when the next update comes out I won't be able to get it because I've heard that if you don't have some system apps installed then it won't let you. Is this true? Thanks.

well are you sure that you just didn't disable it and not actually uninstall it? I bet you just disabled it. I think there is a way within the app drawer that you can show disabled apps. If it shows up then you didn't uninstall it.

Yeah, i'm sure. It's not listed in the app drawer anymore, even where my other disabled apps are. If I go into the Play market and search for the app then the option to install shows up as well.

I thought one of the plusses of ICS was that we could uninstall some of the system apps we didn't want.....I'd hate to think that would affect future updates to the operating system. I have uninstalled several of the preinstalled apps. Perhaps, if you are concerned, you could download it again, then disable it.

you have to uninstall any updates, then go back in and disable the app. I got the same "uninstall failed" for vznav, but I really don't care. if a future ota refuses to download, then a factory reset should fix it.
