Hello I have purchased Sharp FX Plus Unlocked in India (has AtnT at bottom) it has Android 2.2, Will it be possible to upgrade to a higher version. If yes how?

Unfortunately, some manufacturers are horrible at updating their devices. There are workarounds though. Custom ROMs provide the flexibility to update your device without needing to wait for the manufacturer to do so. There are risks and rewards to this process, for instance it will void your warranty.
