So my upgrade is on the last week of July can't remember the exact day. But anyways I need help deciding what phone I want next. My eyes are currently telling me to get the HTC One S. (Currently have a g2). I love my g2. I have had it for almost 2yrs now! The only thing I'm scared of if I get the One S is that it doesn't have a pshysical keyboard. (Before the g2 I had the g1 then a sidekick) so I have always loved keyboard phones, so I'm scared of not liking the One S because of this. But I'm willing to try it. Anyone out there have a One S. Pros? Cons? Or any other suggestions?

If you want to g o with phones that t - mobile offers themselves, I would suggest the galaxy s3. Or, you could look at the Galaxy nexus available from the Google Play Store unlocked in their devices section. The galaxy Nexus will be getting Jelly Bean in mid July, but the galaxy s3 has better hardware. I don't think that tmobile has any current phones with a physical keyboard.

I have the One S and I really like it. The GS3 would also be a good choice. ;)

I used to be a blackberry person until a couple years ago, I don't miss a physical keyboard at all.

The mytouch q is currently the only keyboard phone T-Mobile still offers. Get that if you must have one. Otherwise I would go for the One S.

Sooo I went to tmobile yesterday my upgrade isn't till the 27th of this month. I messed with the one S some more..I like it so far. I also messed around with the s3. Solid phone I must say. The only thing I'm not liking is that they want the money right there and then. I remember before when I upgraded I could make payments that was added on to my phone bill (loved that) but apperently tmobile stopped doing that. And for each phone they wanted 300 bucks blah! Can't afford that all at once :(

@smoky: First, remember these phones cost about $650, not $300. Second, you have 3 choices, 2 of which will save you money over using your upgrade:

1. Stay with your 'conventional' plan, pay $300 up front and the rest in higher monthly charges. However, this ends up costing the most and monthly charges do NOT go down after the cost of the phone is covered. You still pay the same. This is the most expensive option.

2. Pay a down payment, get a Value Plan and T-Mobile will finance the balance in payments added to your monthly bill. Once the phone is paid off your monthly bill DOES go down to a reduced rate.

3. Pay full price upfront, get a Value Plan or go prepaid off-contract and get a cheaper monthly rate immediately for bringing your own phone. Long-term, this is the best deal.

Oh I ain't tripping about the price. I wouldn't mind paying $300 for the one S or s3 it just sucks that they don't do monthly payments like how they used to when I got my G2

Smoky,

Decide which phone you want.
Call t-mobile during business hours.
When the system and what you want, say "cancel service".

You will be transferred to the retention department. Tell them you are looking at the iPhone but will stay well then if you can get a good deal on the phone you want.

You can probably get the one s for 50 or less and the gs3 for probably a bit more. They may even offer the 20 loyalty data plan too. If not ask.

Didn't they have a sale on the one s for 25 today?

They'll probably let you get an early upgrade too.

Longer you have been with them, better your chances.

Interesting. I have 2 lines under my name. If I say "cancel service" it won't affect anything right? I been with tmobile for about 4-5yrs

On a side note just came back from walmart and they have the one S and s3 for 200 (for upgrades) so I might go this route once I have the money.

Thanks for all the inputs guys. Really appreciate it

They DO offer payments, using either Options 1 or 2 as I described in my post. What don't you understand? I suggest you read that post again - carefully.

Also, if you buy from Wal-Mart you'll be under contract with them, not T-Mobile. Something to consider.

I wanted the SG3 & they wanted $350 bucks up front..These phones are not woth $600 bucks straight up! They make u think ur getting a deal by upgrading or signing a contract..Then to add insult, they charge $18 to upgrade after dropping $$$$ on a new phone..i guess I will stixk with my SG1 til Christmas or when they go back to the partial payment plans..
