Upgrade problem

My tablet has 32GB Ram and is currently running Android 4.3. Having discovered that a firmware upgrade is available, I decided to try and install it.

Direct installation failed as the Maximum number of roll-out updates had been exceeded on the server. I attempted to use Kies.

Kies correctly identified the device and confirmed that an update was available, It started the download process and then terminated it with a message that the device required at least 100MB available space in order to proceed.

My question is, given that available space is more than 250 times the requirement, why will the upgrade not work?

Have you checked to see how much of your space is actually unused? Perhaps your tablet is full of photos, apps, music, etc.

Yes I have. Available main memory is currently in excess of 25GB.

Although the problem has now resolved, as the number of roll-out updates available has dropped below the threshold, I would like to understand exactly what the problem is with the Kies upgrade route as this is likely to recur at some point in the future.

I actually was surprised that tablet is up to 4.4. I'm only running 4.0.4 and it says I'm up to date. I have the original 10.1 tablet - model GT-P7510. Is that what you have?

MY tablet is now, actually, running Android 4.4.2 which was push delivered several days after I unsuccessful in attempting to upgrade the software using Kies.

My current model is SM-P600 - the 10.1 2014 release

Oh - much newer version. I was hopeful that they made an update for my tablet. It's still a great tablet. Wish they would keep supporting it with updates.
