upgrade quesiton? please help

I am not the primary line holder on my family plan. the upgrade i am using however is the primary line. My dad called verizon and now i am able to do upgrades and whatever without him there... but if i am using his upgrade will he need to be there or can i do it if i have his phone with me? and if i upgrade on his line and then switch the droid x to my line will he also have to pay the $30 a month for data or will they switch that over for me too?

they will switch that over too. They won't charge for a data plan on a phone that won't use it, Unless it is required that is.

You could order it online (Online discounts rule) activate it to his line, and then switch it over to your line. When you activate the phone, it will activate the data plan. But once you swith the Droid X to your line and add his phone back to his line, it will drop the data plan.

they should be able to do it without your dad there if he's authorized you to do it. just make sure you know the password in case they ask you.
my boss is on a family plan with some of her family members and she's not the primary but they allowed her to take her daughter's upgrade without even asking anyone else.
the only reason i know this is because she told her daughter and her daughter got mad because she planned on upgrading soon lol
