Upgrade still available?

Well, this seems to be an interesting situation I'm in. My mother and I both upgraded to the Incredible on launch day. That was the last week of April.

Today, I was telling her about how the new Droid X comes out in July and about the specs and showed her the live feed from Engadget. She said, "Well, why don't you sell your phone and buy that one?" I replied because I will have to upgrade to an unsubsidized price so I would be paying quite a bit of money for it. Then I went to Verizon's website to show her what I meant. I logged into our account and clicked the upgrade available button, which confused me for a second but I thought nothing of it.

Then it occurred to me on the very next page that I was still eligible for an upgrade even though I just got this phone. That means I can easily sell this phone and upgrade to the Droid X upon release. Regardless, I'm so confused as to how this is possible. I'm thinking it was a glitch in the system which allowed me to look as though I didn't upgrade even though I did.

Maybe it was an accident and by trying to upgrade Verizon will notice, but it doesn't seem likely I hope. Anyone else have this happen to them?

It's on a family plan so if anyone else has a family plan, check out your account page. My number is also the main line.

If it has been less than 30 days since you got your Incredible, take it back and activate your old phone. Then upgrade that to the Droid X. That way, your New Every Two resets and you don't have to pay the restocking fee.

I am not sure what will come of your upgrade attempt, but the above method should be very easy and you don't have to worry about them noticing that you just used your NE2.

Well, the thing is... I upgraded my phone in April when the phone was launched. I upgraded my phone on launch day which was 4/29 I think. That means I shouldn't be allowed to upgrade, but when that thing goes up for preorder, you best bet I'm preordering it if I'm still allowed.

I'm pretty sure you can always select "upgrade" inside of My Verizon. However, it will show you the current prices available for the phones. My guess is that you'll see all the phones for the "no contract" price.

Try to upgrade to a different phone, like the Droid, and see how much the price is. You can walk all the way through the process up to the "submit my order" page without actually doing anything.
