upgraded, but want to go back to old phone... cost?

Hello all, I have a question for you. Although it may be a silly one but...

I was wondering if I had already upgraded to a new phone but decided I'd like to go back to an old phone would I be charged for doing that, I'm not sure which is why I am asking.

Thanks!

If you upgraded your phone, I believe you can do what ever you like with the new one. The only reason you would be charged for the upgrade (New phone) is if you disconnected the line the upgrade is attached to, hence, an early termination.

For instance, I used my wife's line to get an upgrade and within a month I sold the phone cuz neither of us liked it and she's still using her old phone. They have not charged us a dime. We are however responsible for an early termination fee if I ever chose (Within two years) to terminate her number.

Hope this answers your question. :)

If you're keeping the new phone and just want to use the old phone, there is no charge. If you are in the 14 return window and want to return the new phone, it will cost you the $35 restocking fee. But you'll get the $30 upgrade fee back in that case.

Good point! Glad you chimed in, I didn't think about it, the two week window thing.

The upgrade we had was outside of the two week window and we sold it on craigslist. :)

Ok thanks!

Next question, if I were to buy a phone like craigslist or ebay or something even after I upgraded would there be a charge for that or is it like switching phones?

There shouldn't be, long as the line you've used to get said upgrade stays active. Like I was saying about my wife's phone, she has a thunderbolt, she upgraded to the rezound and hated it. We sold the rezound and she went back to her thunderbolt. This was months ago, we haven't seen any charges.

Verizon doesn't care what phone you use and they don't care what you do with your upgrade phone. Again, long as your line/account stays open.

If you go and get an upgrade then turn around and shut your service off within the 2 year window, then yes, they will charge you. :)
