Upgraded from DROIDX and I love it!

I just got my DROID RAZR MAXX and it's and upgrade from verizon. I had the DROIDX and it is two years old and I hated that phone! I am not going to list all of the problems with it and if you had a one you know what I am talking about.

I just activated my DROID RAZR MAXX yesterday and right out of the box upgraded the OS to ICS 4.0.4 and added a few apps and what not and so far I am loving this phone! The camera is super fast, the touch screen is fluid and I have yet to see any slow downs.

I also have ICS on my tablet so for me having ICS on my phone is a huge plus! I know some users have reported issues with ICS but for me it's been problem free (I know only one day)

The only gripe I have is with the voice command... I tell it to call "Lori" (my wife) and it tells me Harry? no... LORI ... did you say scary? no ...LORI!!!!! you get the picture.. lol

It did fine when I just spoke her phone number ... oh well its a minor complaint.

I also had a droid x, I only had it for about a year but never really had any problems with it. Of course I was rooted and constantly flashing different roms. Then I went to the galaxy nexus, boy what a disappointment. No signal anywhere, horrible battery. Verizon offered me the Maxx as a replacement and i jumped on it. Best decision I made, I love this phone, and with ICS I haven't even felt the need to flash any roms yet, though I get bored easily and am always looking for something with new features

You did it right with the Maxx. I went from DX to RAZR to Razr Maxx and I can say easily that the Maxx is the best phone I've ever had.

It has what almost every other smartphone is missing: a battery that's worth what little bit of extra weight it adds!

I don't understand how these other manufacturers can skip out on such a key part of a phone. It makes me want to have a 3000+ mAh battery for every phone in the future. Though, I'm already disappointed that the Droid RAZR HD is reported to have something closer to 2500 mAh.

Regardless, a huge Kudos to Motorola for releasing the Maxx, despite the Maxx being exactly what the RAZR should have been in the first place.

Ditto to everything above. I upgraded from a DX to the Maxx about a month ago and love it - only regret that I did the OTA to ICS, actually liked GB better, but oh well. With the Maxx I'm seeing much better battery life, smoother scrolling, higher res screen, 4G signal...all improvements I enjoy over the DX!

I think I left right before 621 came out, and did anyone ever find a way to root it?
