Question about upgrading from a basic phone to a smartphone on metropcs.

Looking at the web site it says in the FAQ section > Plans it says the following and my question is - how much is the fee? And will this fee apply regardless of where I buy the phone?

If I choose to upgrade to a new smartphone, will there be a difference in rate plan pricing or additional fees?


Existing customers who wish to upgrade to a new smartphone will be assessed an upgrade fee to be paid along with the phone price at purchase.

It all depends on the plan you want. There are smartphone plans that are very cheap, but you're limited on data.

$50 plan looks to be what I'd opt for with the LG Optimus F6

Seeing as u are getting a new smartphone I'll get the unlimited plan seeing as u are guaranteed to use more data.

I'm going back and forth on the $50 and $60 plans. I'm not planning on being a heavy user as I still do most things on an actual computer. I did not want to depend on the $40 however. And I guess the next question should be, can you change plans at any time?

yes usually the next time your bill is due.

Yeah if one month u find out that u are paying to much u can change your plan the next month.

With both the $40 and $50 plan you have unlimited data, but get reduced speeds after 500MB ($40) or 2.5GB ($50).

So if you don't mind the slower speed, either of this could work for you and save you some money.
