upgrading phone and plan?

I am thinking about switching my phone to maybe the Samsung mega but i am currently on the $55 plan with unlimited everything. If i switch phones will i have to switch to one of the newer plans?

Yes. All the new GSM phones require a new plan. It's been posted for a while in several other threads; I think the BYOD thread is one of 'em.

i was trying to look in that forum and see if it would be possible to bring over the sprint s4 to metro and keep my plan, but couldnt find anything. do you know if it would be possible?

Nope, any BYOD will also be GSM and will require the new plan.
All of us who have switched from an older CDMA device and had the $55 plan have gone through this, if you want to make the move to GSM you have to cough up the extra $5/month.

its entirely possible to illegally flash your device to metropcs, you wont get much help here on it.

it would be a shame to pay that much to get a s4 to only be able to use it on metro's crappy cdma 3g for a year though.

Only reason I considered it is because I can get a sprint s4 for around 150. Ill probably just keep the motion until merge is complete.

its 100 bucks if you switch over as a new customer and port in, 200 if you are using upgrade or dont want to port, so anyone selling it for 150 off contract has some shady stuff going on.
