Upgrading phones early on AT&T

Does AT&T give you a partial hardware discount if you upgrade your phone early (only a month in my case)? I'd really like to take advantage of the Radio Shack $50 off trade in discount on the Inspire.
 
If you are close to your upgrade date, they will give you the full upgrade discount. I upgraded my wife's BlackBerry 2 months early last month. But, that was by calling AT&T directly; not sure how it would work w/ Radio Shack.
 
I actually would be fine just upgrading early even if I can't get the Radio Shack discount. Did you just call the regular customer service number and ask about upgrading it?
 
I just called the customer service number on the AT&T site. I haven't tried any earlier than 2 months. He was very helpful and didn't seem to have a problem bumping the upgrade schedule.
 
AT&T wouldn't let me upgrade 2 days early!!!! I had been with them for 8-9 years and I spoke with 3 CS reps and they all said "No, sorry, you'll have to wait until your official upgrade date...even if it is only 2 days from now. Are you looking at the iPhone, cause the iPhone 4 is great, we'd love to get you set up on the iPhone4!!"

I was little peeved about that.

That's BS I and many others have upgraded months early. I can not believe they won't allow you two days
