Root Upgrading to 2.3.6 (India) while rooted

Hi,

I have rooted by Galaxy Ace running GB 2.3.4, stock ROM, and also replaced default recovery with Clockworkmod. When I tried for OTA update to 2.3.6, it displayed an error while rebooting and the update failed. Now my questions are :
1. Can I update via Kies and still keep my phone rooted as before ?
2. If not, can I just download the update and flash it via CWM ?
3. If both answers are negative, then how can I update to 2.3.6 (India) and still keep my phone rooted ?

Thanks and regards,
Dhiman

I think the best option is to flash 2.3.6 via odin and then root your phone again if you sill want your phone to be rooted... not sure if there is a direct way to flash 2.3.6 via CWM but do see if someone has a batter suggestion for you.... cheers...

Odin is the best way to upgrade.
But you can also do that by flashing a stock based custom rom. It will have most of the stock apps and features, plus it might have better performance.
(Depends which rom you flash)

Also you can go for CM 7.2, the new versions are very stable and its based on 2.3.7. Full of features, just takes away a little more battery than stock.
