Help Urgent problem ( Santa help )

Santa is bringing my nephew a new 7inch tablet in the morning....

My sister just asked me to install some app's / games for him so it has something on it when he wakes up.

I just powered the thing up ( it's new ) but it's one of those cheap ones ya get on deals sites... i can't even find a make / model number !!

Here's the problem

When I go into settings i get an error "unfortunately system ui has stopped"

I was reading online that this is sometimes caused by cache .. but this is brand new and I've not installed anything.

I'm not an android person.. so i've no idea how to reset it.. I think i did a factory reset before on a different device.. but i had to go into settings !! and I can't on this one.

Any help would be great..

It's never a bad idea to factory reset a device before starting out, one of the other staff members on site swears by it!

If it's anything like most Android devices, it will probably have a recovery mode which should allow you to factory reset from there.

Try powering the device off, and turning on whilst holding the volume up or volume down button, does it take you to an alternative menu?
