USB 2.0 versus USB 3.0, what is the difference?

There is a lot of conjecture and miss information thrown out there when the subject of the two different types of USB ports are discussed.

Rather than me repeat it in a post, I am offering up this Technical Newsletter which has a lot of graphics to show what is going on.

USB 3.0 ports can source up to 900 milliAmps !!! that is one advantage,
the 2nd major advantage is up to 5 gBits/second transfer speeds.... yup, that is really honking on...
and, up to 127 devices can be addressed on one port...

now, on to the show...
