I've realized that I should have a backup or 2 and was wondering what brand(s) you guys would recommend. [emoji217]

In light of the whole Note 7 ordeal; I would pay whatever the extra, for peace of mind, to get original adapters and cables from the manufacturer of your specific device. I would not go 3rd party at all, but that is just me.
Type C is relatively new and uncharted territory and you don't want to make a mistake that puts your device, property, or family at risk.

That being said, this guy is a man amongst boys when it comes to Type C knowledge and know how.

He works for Google, stick to what he approves

Google proper sells a cable. They would be a very safe bet.

The USB Implementors have a Type C compliance program. Use only items that feature the 100% official USB logo, no fakes.

Not sure who runs this site, but they might be a decent source. Cannot confirm

I think I just saw a recent news story in the last week that had a really solid list of cables, can't find where that was...

I can't seem to find any of Bensons 'safe' cables on UK Amazon. The Belkin, Iorange-E and anker USB 2.0 cables only seem to be on the US site.

Can anyone help with a safe legacy USB 2.0 cable which I can use safely in my car charger and existing wall chargers?

I have managed to get the Anker micro USB to Type C adapter which Benson advises is safe.

I don't seem to be able to see cables from any of the device manufacturers either which I'd assume would be safe?
