Help USB charging trouble

My GS3 has been having issues with multiple micro usb chargers. I have tried at least 3 different USB cables. Basically when i plug it in it will usually be ok and charge but then at random times, without touching it at all it will constantly "unplug and reconnect" at a fast pace. Its very random. I have also discovered I have to set my phone down at different angles to get the usb plugs to connect to where it will start charging. I know when I call verizon they will just tell me I have to buy a Samsung power cable but a micro USB is a micro USB so how would that make a difference? I believe it's the internal USB port that has a problem or its the wiring in the device that could be loose. Has anyone else had these issues and found a solution or do I probably have to submit a claim for a new device? Thanks!

I just recently experienced a fail to charge problem from my HTC phone. I just knew it was hardware related so I submitted a claim and received a refurb. After going through the pain of setting up the replacement I did a factory reset on the old unit to wipe my data before returning it. Just for kicks I checked the charging port after the reset to find that the connection problem was software and not hardware related. This is not to imply that your problem is similar but it is something to consider. Best of luck to you and welcome to Android Forums.

Sure sounds to me like it is a lack of proper contact inside the USB plug in the phone. I would consider returning the phone under warranty....
