"USB Device not recognized" S7

every time I connect my Galaxy S7 to my computer it comes up with an error in the corner saying "USB Device not recognized, the last device connected to this computer malfunctioned and is not recognized by windows" I have tried a few solutions I have seen on other Forum boards with no success. I tried going into the device manager and uninstalling the USB device with the yellow exclamation point beside it and the searching for new devices. I have tried going into the adanced Power Options and disabling USB from the battery. I have tried downloading Smart Switch and when I open the software and connect the phone nothing appears on the switch smart screen saying "Connecting" or anything?

if anyone could please give me some suggestions this would be greatly appreciated the phone was working yesterday nothing much has changed since then

Try plugging it in a different port, preferably one of the ports at the back of the CPU tower (assuming its a PC not a laptop). If it still doesn't work, try it on a different PC to eliminate if it's the phone or the PC with the problem.

Have you downloaded the device drivers from Samsung?
