usb flash drive as storage

i have a lg stylo 4 android phone. i have an usb flash drive that i have connected to it with an usb c adapter. what i would like to have it do is to use it as the main storage for when i use the camcorder part to record my videos for church. i would like those videos to be saved automatically to the attached usb drive like when it saves directly to a memory card. what can i do to change the settings to save directly to attached usb drive?

i have attached a photo of the usb drive connected to the usb c adapter

Dannydet what app are you refering to? I have tried going thru storage in settings to change to usb drive but it does not show up when connected. I would like usb due to more storage and easier to remove and share. Dont want to change out memory cards so much since it uses same slot holder as sim card.

You'd fire up the camera or whatever app you're using for videos.
Go into it's settings and see if you can save to USB while it's connected to the phone

In the event your phone just doesn't support an external USB flash drive, could you provide a little more background on the situation? Is this an issue where the videos you're making are just too large to fit on the remaining free space of your phone's internal storage or the microSD card? Or is it just a matter of convenience where you just want the video content to be written directly to a USB flash drive instead of copying it over later?
If the former, there should be a setting in your recording app to set maximum file size and/or recording time, which may be helped if you can also get by setting the default recording resolution down. If the latter, it might be more prudent to just rely on an online file storage service (i.e. Google Photos/Google Drive, OneDrive, SpiderOak, Dropbox, etc.) instead of a USB flash drive to store your videos, made easier if your church has WiFi or you have an unlimited mobile data plan.
