USB GPS Aerial for tablet?

Hi
Has anyone actually succeeded in getting a USB GPS aerial plugged into their Android tablet, and functioning with their mapping software?
I ask because I'm trying to use my Sumvision Cyclone Voyager 2 as a sat-nav. The GPS aerial I've got functions perfectly with my Windows XP laptop, but is just not recognized at all when connected into the "host" USB port of my tablet.
The software I've tried includes "you are here", which is supposed to do the job, and doesn't. Other options include apps to enable external GPS aerials in phones etc., to be used with Bluetooth. They don't work either.
Any help/education gratefully received!!
:D
