USB HDD showing as "empty folder" when full

Hi.

I have a 3Tb USB HDD attached to my Neo X8 h plus running Android 4.4.2, kernel version 3.10.33 and build no. KOT49H. 20160829

Up to a week ago I could access all the files and music on the drive but one morning it just started showing "empty folder" when you accessed the drive in any file explorer.

If I attach the drive to a laptop then all is visible and working fine.

In Kodi, where I had a music folder location added, the music files (on the same HDD) are all accessible. Attempts to add the films folder aren't succeeding.

Had anyone any idea how I can fix this? I didn't update anything (at least not manually) in that period and no other apps were added. Any help would be very much appreciated.

Thanks,

Peter

Possibly the Neo isn't now supplying enough power from the USB to run the HDD for some reason. Does it still work with USB thumb drives? If so, it maybe a fault with it. And you'd have to contact the company in HK about that.

Thanks for your reply. The HDD has its own power supply and the drive is accessible via already added paths in Kodi but in any file manager the drive shows as an "empty folder". So I am able to access it but in a very restricted manner.

From what I understand - the Android TV boxes don't support drives larger than 2TBs.

Have I been misinformed?
