USB Mass Storage - Mount as a disk drive

I expecting this has been asked before, but here we go...

Is it possible to mount the S3 as a Mass Storage device? and without rooting the phone?

I have to add this is for Mac OS.

I thought, rather naively, that this facilty would be a given

I can't connect to my car's USB audio input
I can't manage my files on my computer without using KIES
I can't directly hookup the phone to directly import photos

I'm not interested in mounting the internal memory, just the SD card

Theres an app to do it but I doubt it works on mac. It doesn't work on Linux. I'd forget about "USB Mass storage" as thats not happening. Look into the other options like WiFi etc.

Well I am a bit surprised that with ICS, google removed the USB mass storage option in favour of MTP and PTP, neither of which work on my Linux box either I might add. These only seemt o work reliably on Windows. I have to run an FTP server and connect using ES file explorer to my linux box, or use MTP / PTP on a Windows virtual machine. Given the android Kernel is derived from Linux Kernel, I'm not sure apple can be blamed for this one.

Yep, thats the app that I wasn't sure if it worked on Mac. It doesn't work on Linux

From Apple's point of view it is a good idea - BUT - the Chinese are a resourceful bunch and I wouldn't be surprised if their cheap version isn't available before the official one! :p
Lawsuits will ensue.
