Android Question

Hello, I searched a lot and haven't been able to find a solution to my problem.

My phone was acting OK, up untill eariler today. The USB port simply stopped working. I tried it with multiple computers, with multiple chargers, nothing. I even tried to charge another smarthphone with the same USB port with the same cable and it worked.

So, the problem is definetly the phone. I tried using a screwdriver to open it up, but I had to go fast so I couldn't finish and just screwed off half of the bolts and then tried to clean it if it had any dirty stuff in the port. Then I put the bolts back in and closed the case.

Now, when I boot the phone, after around 10 seconds it says 'charging' and it's NOT charging the battery nor is it connected to a power source.

What should I do?

This is not going to be the answer you'll want, so sorry.

1). If you're really good you can replace the port, but this time take your time and don't be in a hurry.

-or-

2). Replace the phone.

And just for kicks I'll add my form letter for you and the readers. I've always bought at least one extra battery and a battery only charger. I hardly ever charge the battery in the phone. I want to preserve that USB port for file transfer and hacking.

And the other bigger advantage is that my batteries not only last longer between charges, they last longer overall.

good luck
