USB Tethering

I noticed my USB tether feature works without paying for Mobile Hotspot.

I asked Verizon via chat if I can do this without a charge. They said I can, it'll just use my data.

But he didn't seem very smart. I'd ask him something, he'd give me some answer that didn't actually answer my question.

So I come to you guys. Did anyone have to find out and got an answer? I want to be sure before I tether via USB and get a big bill.

You can tether, technically you're not supposed too but as long as you don't use a huge amount of data you'll be okay. Make sure to check your data usage so you don't go over your limit. (uf you don't have unlimited)

If you're on one of the new "shared data" plans, then the mobile hotspot feature is included, (i.e. free) but it does indeed use data from your data bucket. So you need to watch that you don't go over your plan. I think the overage charge is $10 per GB. Someone please correct me if I am mistaken.

This much I do know. I'm getting switched to Share Everything on the 20th.
