USB Web Cam for Android 2.2 Mini Laptop

Dear members,

I recently purchased a 7" Mini Laptop from Ebay. It is running the Android 2.2 operating system along with a Via 800MHz Processor. Unfortunately I cannot post a link to it as I am a new member.

My query is this: the mini laptop does not have an integrated webcam, however it does have USB ports.

I was wondering if any members knew of a Web Cam that has driver compatibility with the Android operating system. Any help would be much appreciated.

As far as using anything to do with USB like: printers, web cams, flash drives, external Hard Disk drives. I still have not been able to find anything in the way of drivers that will make devices work through USB with any device running on the Google Android OS.

The only thing I have been able to find is just things on the USB debug tool found here: Google USB Driver | Android Developers

As far as actual drivers being made to make devices work through USB I really would like to figure it out myself. Anyone else have any info on this that I might be missing here. From my understanding there may be some people out there working on it now but as far as I know right now there is only USB support that allows you to connect your device to a computer to transfer things back and forth through USB. One still needs a computer to do the work of transfering files back and forth from my understanding.

I was coming to the same conclusion myself to be honest. I've done multiple searches on google using various search terms, and I'm getting nothing in the way of results showing that there is an Android OS Compatible USB Web Cam.

WEBCAM/MICROPHONE TEST

Yesterday I connected a webcam with microphone in it to my g-box. I haven't done much test yet but the first thing that happened was the sound of the box stopped working and I had to disconnect the webcam for it to work. I will still perform more tests on this but If you guys have any information on this it would be very much appreciated.

well I am looking to do the same thing as well with a mini net book I got my daughter for Xmas. I'm sure this will become somebody's project soon if its not being worked in already as it seems to have been a fairly popular item this year . there is a site porting newer versions of the android OS to netbooks. gingerbread, honeycomb, and ice cream sandwich.
