Use a wallpaper bigger than 960x800

I have an at&t HTC Inspire with android 2.2. The correct background res is 960x800 but i want to set the background to an image thats 1600x800 without cropping or distorting the image. Its the same height but its a lot wider. What Im trying to accomplish is to get that set as my wallpaper and instead of cutting of the edges of the image i want the 7 pages to scroll more as i switch between them. So right now 7 screens covers 960 pixels and i want it to simply scroll farther and thus move the image more between each page on my phone to fit and see the whole image. Is this possible and how??

I'm not positive that it'll work, (I've never used it) but as I recall, I've read that an app called Wallpaper Wizardrii will allow you to set your wallpaper as you want.

Hope that helps...

Thanks that is a great app but sadly it still won't do what I want. I just filled the black space outside the image with colors and design and set it so it shows the whole undistorted picture and then has something on the blank space now. Thank you for that app though it still does some cool stuff
