Use an old phone for permanent digital gauges?

I have a old droid X2 I want to use in my car as digital gauges with my Torque app and Bluetooth obd2 dongle. Its already rooted, is there a rom or app I can install to make the phone automatically load the Torque app when powered on? and maybe even make the phone power on and off when the charger cable is plugged and unplugged? (so they will always turn on/off with the car) and because the power button on the phone is a little faulty.

Any help would be appreciated!

Just what I've been looking for as well, I use my N7 as a GPS and my phone as gps speedo and dashcam.

What are you guys talking about? I really confused here, how would your car even give the gauge info to a smartphone? ^.^

I have a KKL lead for my Fiat Punto. I have just downloaded Torque obd2 reader to phone. I have also just bought an OTG lead for phone as well---just wondering if I plug KKL lead into the OTG then phone, would this read off the info from car, please
Phone is Galaxy S3, rooted with KitKat 4.4.4 on it.
Thanks
