use AT&T phone with T-mobile sim card

I want to use the AT&T Motorola Atrix HD 4g LTE model number MB886 with a T-Mobile sim card. Is this possible to use without having to go through the trouble of unlocking it?
 
No, the phone has to be SIM unlocked in order to use a SIM card from any carrier other than AT&T. Your best bet is to get in contact with AT&T and begin the process to receive the unlock code for your device. Once it is unlocked, then you can use it on T-Mobile as long as it supports the necessary frequencies. The more compatibilities, the better. These frequencies are:
EDGE/GPRS: 1900
UMTS/HSPA: 1700/2100 and/or 1900
LTE: 1700/2100
