Use SD card

geezer

Lurker
My "internal storage" is almost filled up. 46.2 G out of 52.6 G. Is there any way to get all new downloads/apps/etc to write to the SD card instead of internal storage. I have 59.4G out of 59.6G on the SD card. Or to transfer/use the SD card for installed aps?

I looked in Total Commander and the amount of internal storage used by downloads, pics, music, books, and all the other files that I control are less than 10M. The instyalled aps are filling up the 64G of internal memory.

Also, has anybody rooted a Blu Vivo 8?? I know, I know. But how did you do it? Specifically, how did it work out?

Apps live in internal storage. You may be able to partially move some apps to SD by going into Settings > Apps, selecting the app and pressing the "move to SD" button = if your phone supports that, if the app allows it.

Data like books, movies, pics, music are fine on SD. Look in your camera's settings to tell it to store stuff there, likewise other media apps (you can move media with a file manager app, but make sure your viewer/reader knows where to find them afterwards).

I've never seen a Blu phone (I don't think they sell them in Europe), so can't help with root.

I tried what you wrote. I didn’t try all of the aps, but the ones I did try would only let me clear out nonessential data. Then I noticed that I could format the SD card for internal memory. I figured that meant that I would have 128G of internal memory. Not too sure if that means continuous or contiguous memory, but I figured it should mean I wouldn’t have too worry about filling internal memory and not being able to add another ap.

I assume that if internal memory is filled, so that there is insufficient internal memory for another ap, that means no more additional aps without deleting one or more aps. 128G should be hard to fill even for me.

I believe it's a phone that Vivo specially makes for Blu in the US. Vivo phones are not usually available in North America or Western Europe. Their main market is China, and Asia in general. And I know newer Vivo phones like Oppo(same company), can be very difficult or impossible to root now.
