Used and refurbished Galaxy Nexus for more than new?

I've been looking to jump ship from Virgin Mobile to T-Mobile prepaid with an unlocked Galaxy Nexus and going from a $150 device to a $350 device has me a little worried so I thought I'd look around ebay and see if I could pick up someone's old Nexus or a refurbished for a little less.

I was surprised to see that all of the prices are more than a new one from the Play store.

A refurbished for $450 + shipping or a new one for $349 + shipping.
A used one for $368 + shipping or a new one for $349 + shipping.

What am I missing here? Are there models beyond what is in the play store and these for over 400 bucks are higher end?
 
Maybe those are the Verizon /cdma models. The Play store only sells the unlocked GSM version afaik. Only explanation I can think of.
 
I realize I neglected to mention that I was looking at unlocked GSM only. The one Verizon I found was actually the cheapest of the bunch I found.
