Used purchase, gmail locked out, help, please

I'm asking for a friend that is helping someone with an ebay purchase of a boost stylo that they didn't get and can't get the email address and password to unlock.
Is it possible to just flash a tot on top and put in a new account? I mean as long as the esn is clean? this question has floated around me a few times and I'm planning on buying a used G5 or V10 and don't want to get burned either. Any info appreciated, Thanks johnm

Tryed going into settings and remove account or doing a reset? If you add your gmail account you should be able to remove the other account.

Sorry, I guess I wasn't clear. This is a newly bought stylo from ebay that was reset. It is at the beginning screen asking for a google acct. It won't go anywhere, just like on any reset. The seller is unavailable and I want to know if it can be over-written by a tot so that a fresh google acct can be added. I don't have the ability to flash so I don't know. Thanks for your time!

Good luck trying to bypass Factory Reset Protection. It's a shame that the seller was too negligent to prevent that from happening.
