Useless End Call button

Been searching for a while for a solution to this issue, but it seems not many people have had it.

I am running rooted, stock 2.3.3 on X10i - that isn't important though because I've had this issue for as long as I've had the phone on several different firmware versions and handsets.

When I go to End Call, the button doesn't seem to become active for a second so I have to tap it like 5 times to end the call. By which time however, the other party would have hung up with a phone that obviously has the ability to just be a phone and end the call!

Has anyone had this issue, or is it not an issue at all but actually a undocumented 'feature'?

My phone's touch screen has a hard time working when it is hot and sweaty. If You don't put the phone to your face and just use the speaker phone....and try and End Call....does that help?

I find blowing on the phone while I use the touch screen fixes the problem. I have sweaty hands and the unlock screen can be annoying sometimes...I just do it slowly while blowing the screen.

And the most common problem is people who have a screen protector or a rubber cover on the outside.....do you have either? Have you tried removing it and then using the End Call button?
